This study investigates the psychological factors influencing the adoption of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) as a digital payment method in Indonesia. Drawing on emotional and cognitive perspectives, the research examines the effects of hedonic motivation, perceived ease of use, and perceived risk on users’ intention to adopt QRIS, while assessing the mediating role of perceived trust. Using empirical data from QRIS users, the findings reveal that hedonic motivation and perceived ease of use positively influence usage intention, whereas perceived risk negatively affects users’ trust in the system. Perceived trust emerges as a significant mediator that strengthens the relationship between psychological factors and adoption intention. These results highlight the critical role of creating enjoyable user experiences, ensuring system simplicity, and enhancing security to encourage QRIS adoption. The study also emphasizes the importance of educational and awareness initiatives aimed at reducing perceived risk and fostering trust, thereby supporting the broader digitalization of financial transactions in Indonesia.
